Stelvio Val Venosta
Stelvio Val Venosta (German Stilfs) is located in the Stelvio National Park, few kilometres away from the Swiss border. Stelvio is located at the meeting point between Val di Solda and Val di Trafoi in a sunny position. The highest farms are located at 1800 meters of altitude; Stelvio Val Venosta is one of the most traditional and best conserved mountain resorts in South Tyrol. Even in the Twenties and the Thirties the Italianization wasn’t so deep. Two hamlets of Stelvio Val Venosta are very famous: Solda (German: Sulden), where it’s located one of the five “Messner Mountain Museum” and where the yaks brought from Tibet live. They have adapted themselves to the South Tyrolean climate very well. Trafoi is famous for being Gustavo Thöni birthplace, one of the best Italian ski athletes ever.
