Sluderno Val Venosta

Sluderno Val Venosta (German: Schluderns) is near the famous Castel Coira (German: Churburg), which can be visited from April till October. Here one of the most important collections of ancient weapons in the world is conserved; in August the “Chivalry Games” (Italian: Giochi Cavallereschi, German: Südtiroler Ritterspiele) take place. It’s a very important medieval feast for parents and children, as here you can see many historic aspects of the Middle Ages: the quintain, falconry, medieval concerts. The Roman section illustrates: bigae races, the gladiators school and the Roman soldiers building the “Via Claudia Augusta”. Visiting the “Chivalry games” means fun for the whole family with the Ortles mountain in the background, the highest mountain in the Eastern Alps.
