Prato allo Stelvio

Prato allo Stelvio (German: Prad am Stilfserjoch) is located at more or less 900 meters of altitude in the wonderful Stelvio National Park, the highest in Europe; by the Montechiaro (German: Lichtenberg) hamlet  it’s possible to see the castle ruins, which are being restored. Prato allo Stelvio combines tradition and modernity harmonically; you’ll see modern shops in traditional cobbled streets, with a Romanesque bell tower in the background. The most important tourism attraction of this mountain resort is the Stelvio National Park, one of the most important in Europe, where it’s possible to participate into hiking trips, mountain bike trips and practice Nordic Walking in summer and try the snowshoe hiking trips in winter. It’s possible to play this following sports in Prato allo Stelvio as well: swimming in the Aquaprad swimming pool and tennis in the sports center.
